EARLY LIFE
“Bong Tarin” as he was fondly known, is the 8th child of Angeles Rodulfo Tarin (a barangay captain for 30 years, ex-municipal councilor and a business man) and Organica Tuibeo Manlangit (former barangay kagawad and a housewife) both natives of Barangay Buenavista, Viga, Catanduanes.
He chose to help his father run the family business after his graduation from college but went to Geneva, Switzerland in search for a greener pasture together with his brother, who is now based in Canada. After some years of spending his time as an OFW, he decided to return and put up a transportation business as that of his father.

- A primary school that was built through the efforts of his father who solicited funds from the U.S. Government during the time of the former Governor Alberto.
POLITICS
Bong Tarin started his political career when he was elected and sworn in as Barangay Captain of Buenavista, Viga, Catanduanes for one term, 2007 until 2010. In this same year, he ran as Municipal Vice-Mayor and won in the May 2010 elections. He became the Municipal Mayor in July 2012 until February 2013 through succession, but returned to the same position as Vice-Mayor on February 05 until June, 2013.
On May 2013, he ran for the Mayoralty race but lost. Ran again on May 2016 and 2019 sand was officially proclaimed winner by the Board of Canvassers on May 14, 2016 and 2019, respectively. He is on his second term as of this writing and hopefully to continue his career in the 2022 elections as the Municipal Mayor of Viga, Catanduanes for his third term.
PERSONAL LIFE
He is happily married to Maria Theresa Lorraine A. Tarin, whom he courted for ten years and had his children, Carlos Miguel and Yna Theresa, who are both excelling in school as students.
